As a child I was always the shy retiring type that was always considerate of others, but got picked on and bullied, fast forward a few years and I took up marital arts and became a Black Belt 2nd Dan in Tae Kwon-Do. I learnt many things including the 5 tenets (fundamentals) which have set me up well in life – courtesy , integrity, perseverance, self-control and an indomitable spirit. At a young age I knew I wanted to create my own financial security so thought going into a banking career would enable me to have this. With roles from cashier, to account management, financial advisor, mortgage advisor, senior branch manager and project manager.
As I climbed the corporate ladder I realised my ladder was against the wrong wall. I never shy away from hard work but realised there gets a point were hard work does not pay in a traditional job, you need to be connected or be in the “in” crowd to progress. I left and became a self-employed mortgage broker. Whilst doing my mortgage role I was fortunate to be in the right place and the right time and was advised of a business model that rewards my efforts and does not matter who I know, does not matter my background or education, it just simply says if you do well, you will be rewarded and not just in monetary terms, but many others aspects too, from holidays to cars and even share options, That was back in 2006 and have been privileged to help thousands of others following the same path as me, a way to get financial security, to have more free time and help others at the same time
